We live in an age of unparalleled technological development. The age of the computer, internet, Facebook, iTunes, and digital media is creating generations of people (students) who learn, think, and interact differently than their predecessors. For better or worse technology is here to stay. Therefore, it becomes important for teachers specifically to integrate technology into their instruction to ensure they are doing their best (optimally) to reach these new "Digital Age Learners." With that, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has developed standards and objectives that teachers can go by to integrate technology effectively and efficiently into their classrooms. Here they are:
Demonstrate creativity and innovation
Communicate and collaborate
Conduct research and use information
Think critically, solve problems, and make decisions
